The High Bridge Aqueduct was part of the Old Croton Aqueduct which was completed in 1838. The High Bridge itself was completed in 1848, well before the Civil War. For all the latest information about the historic past, the current activities, and future plans for the High Bridge please visit highbridgeparkdevelopment.blogspot.com. Nice pictures.

Steve Breslow replied:

Thanks Dr (MD, PhD, PsyD?) on the more precise information. As you probably know, the high bridge was originally built as a stone bridge in 1848, rebuilt as a steel bridge in the 1920's, which is why I originally felt that an approximate term, such as "Civil War era" would be sufficient in an artistic, not historical, discussion. For more information on the High Bridge, I would direct you to the numerous plaques built into the walkway of the Bridge, should you actually visit it.

Steve, your scenes from the High Bridge definitely captures a segment of old trying to coexist with the new.. Nice work! (v/f)
